Canal road of Nepal, Surung margh in Lamjung

The northern Lamjung of Nepal has been insfrastructured by the 1st Surung Margh (canal road) of Nepal. The road was built to shorten the road length to reach 50 Mega Watt “ Matthillo Myarsangdi” hydropower project.
The 1st ever surung margh is 300 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width. After the construction of Surung Marg the transportation has been easy for the locals.
The construction company 1st built a bridge over Marsyangdi  river and then opened a canal from the nearly located mini mountain.
Before the construction of the canal, the locals had to travel long road in public vehicle and again had to walk some hours crossing suspension bridge. The local Khaumati Gurung seems to be very happy to get canal in the villege. Khaumati Gurung said, “ I never imagined that road can be built inside of mountain, but today its infront of me and im feeling blessed to use the road.” Not only Khumati but all the local people living in Bhulbhule villege ward number 6  are happy as Khaumati is.
This is the first ever Canal road in Nepal which is being used publicly.
