UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that his involvement as the Chairman of Lumbini Development steering committee has come as a surprise to many.
Speaking at a program organised in the Capital today, Chairman Dahal claimed that many are pleased by his chairmanship of the committee. However, he said that many others were sceptic about its development under his leadership.
Dahal further said that, though Nepal has received a lot in terms of its nature and history, the country lacks proper management. He also said that the message of peace and prosperity would be spread by the completion of the peace process.
“My arrival at Lumbini seems ed to be a strange activity for many while it has become a source of delight and pride for many. Some are still concerned about what its outcome would be,” said Dahal.
Speaking at the program, CPN-UML leader Rajendra Shrestha criticised Dahal of paying attention to Lumbini as a regret of his involvement in insurgency.
Likewise, Nepali Congress (NC) leader and Lumbini Development Committee member Minendra Rijal said that Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, lacked publicity.
